    Hi!

    now how do I retrieve the cd key and install the game peacefully?

    If you already used the CD-key to bind it to you Steamaccount, you wouldn't have to give the key again to begin with. You just have to install it with the discs or download it directly from your Steam library.

    I created a new account. and the new account will not let me install the game. how can I retrieve the cd key and install Total War: Shogun 2 on my new account?

    I think you have to use the old account. If you have forgotten the details there is a button on the Steam Sign-In to retrieve details of lost accounts.

    Steam games are litteraly binded to a certain steam account. Unlike 8 years ago, most games these days using these digital platforms, use a digital storage to store your bought games on your account. Thus, if you want to install games on a new PC for example, you'll need to log in on the account you bought the game for.

    Which he probbally won't do unless he creates another Bumber. DOes he accpets refunds? It's better to get steam games game form the shop or off stean, not ebay. Too unreliable..

    happened twice to me, once with a copy of DoW2 back when I was completely new to steam (i got it because of DoW) and again 2 weeks ago from my favorite pc-doc who was unsure if it was used, but I'll give it back soon.
    Guess it's really a bad buisness with used games these days..
